The Kingston match was disappointing for Yuvraj, he batted wonderfully well but to a lost cause. He was bowled in the last over when India needed only 2 runs to run the match.

He played fantastic cricketing shots in his entire knock, no slogging just good cricket. Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam Singh was awake till 4am to watch his son play, but only to watch him get out in the end and see India loose.

“That’s when I felt miserable. Seeing one’s baby like that leaves you feeling terrible,” says Yuvraj’s mother. She spoke to him later that night and Yuvraj admitted that he couldn’t sleep and was dejected at himself.

Yuvraj is due to be replaced by the Venugopal Rao who is trying to cement his place in this young Indian line-up.
